Morning routine checklist you can print (with an evening one too)

Short answer

A morning routine checklist is a short list of steps in the order you do them, with a box for each day of the week. Keep it to a handful of concrete steps and put it where you'll see it first thing. Streaksheet's routine sheet prints your morning steps and your evening steps on one page, each with Monday-to-Sunday boxes.

Writing steps you will follow

The checklist works when each line is a physical action you can see yourself doing, in the order you do it. Three rules cover most of it:

  1. Follow your real order. If you always put the kettle on first, that's step one. A list that fights the order you already move in gets ignored.
  2. Make each step small and concrete. "Plan the day" is fine if it means writing three things on a card. "Get organised" isn't, because you can't tick it.
  3. Keep it short. Four to six steps is a good starting size. Steps that only happen on some days belong on a habit grid, not the routine.

Why add an evening list

A missing clean shirt or an unpacked lunch at 7:40 is a job that could have been done at 9 the night before. A short evening list moves those jobs to when there's time. A few examples:

Where to put it

Somewhere on the route of your first ten minutes: the bathroom mirror, the fridge, the back of the front door. The evening list can share the sheet. Tick each box as you finish the step, not afterwards in a batch.

Reviewing the week

At the end of the week, look across each row. A step that is blank most days is either in the wrong place in the order or isn't needed. Move it, shrink it or drop it, then write next week's date on a fresh sheet.

Print it with your steps typed in

In the Streaksheet builder, choose Habits & routine and type your morning and evening steps (up to 8 each). The Daily routine sheet prints both tables with a box for every day from Monday to Sunday, a "Week of" line and space for notes. The same pack includes a monthly habit grid and a month review sheet.

Type your steps and the sheet previews free. To print it's $7 once for 31 days, or $5 a month, on paper or saved as a PDF.

Questions

Is this a kids' routine chart?

No. It is a plain text checklist with no pictures or reward stickers. Older kids who read could use it, but it isn't designed as a children's chart.

Can I have the morning and evening routines on one page?

Yes. The routine sheet has a Morning table, an Evening table and a few lines for notes, all on one portrait page.

How many steps can I add?

Up to 8 morning steps and 8 evening steps. Each table prints at least 6 rows, so a list shorter than 6 leaves blank rows to write in.

Do I need a new sheet every week?

Yes, the sheet covers one week and has a blank "Week of" line for the date. While your printing is unlocked you can print it as many times as you like.
