Printable habit tracker: a monthly grid with your habits on it
Short answer
A printable habit tracker is one landscape sheet per month: your habits down the left, the days of that month across the top, and a box to fill on each day you do the habit. At the end of the month you count the boxes. You can rule one by hand, or type your habits into the Streaksheet builder and print a grid that already has the month's dates on it (preview free, printing from $5).
What the grid needs
Monthly habit grids look alike at a glance. These are the details that make one easy to use for a full month:
- The real dates of the month. A generic 1–31 grid makes you cross out days in short months and guess which day is a Tuesday. A grid printed for November 2026 has 30 day columns, and the first one is a Sunday.
- Weekday letters under the day numbers. When the blanks bunch up on Saturdays, you can see it.
- Shaded weekends. Same reason, and it makes the grid easier to scan.
- A Total column. One number per habit at the end of the month, which is the number you compare next month.
- Landscape. 31 day columns plus a column for habit names only fit comfortably on a sideways page.
Running it for a month
- Choose three to five habits to start. You can add more next month. A grid with twelve half-tracked rows is harder to read than five honest ones.
- Write each habit as something you either did or didn't do today. "Read 10 pages" works; "read more" doesn't, because you can't tick it.
- Put the sheet where you are at the end of the day. The fridge, a bedside table, inside a cupboard door.
- Fill the box on the day. If you skipped, leave it empty. Ticking yesterday's box from memory makes the total meaningless.
- Count on the last day. Write the total for each habit, then decide which ones to keep, change or drop next month.
Free or printed for you
A habit tracker is easy to draw: a ruler, a pen and a few dozen straight lines. The step-by-step guide has the measurements. What drawing doesn't give you is the dates and weekdays already lined up, or a clean copy next month without drawing it again. That's the part Streaksheet does.
Print one with your own habits
In the Streaksheet builder, pick Habits & routine, choose the month and type your habits. You get three sheets:
- Habit tracker: the landscape grid described above, with your habits on the rows, the month's dates and weekday letters across the top, weekends shaded and a Total column.
- Daily routine: morning and evening steps with a box for each day, Monday to Sunday.
- Month review: days done and best streak for each habit, plus space for what to keep or change.
Every sheet previews free as you type. Printing is $7 once (prints for 31 days, nothing renews) or $5 a month if you want a fresh grid every month. No account; what you type stays in your browser.

Questions
Is the Streaksheet habit tracker free?
Building and previewing it is free; the preview has a watermark. Printing costs $7 once (31 days of printing, no renewal) or $5 a month. If you want a free version, rule one by hand.
Can I get it as a PDF?
Yes. In the print dialog, choose Save as PDF. It is not a fillable PDF: you fill it in with a pen after printing.
How many habits fit on the grid?
Up to 12. Keep the names short: the habit column fits about 30 characters, and longer names are cut off with … on the printed grid. The grid always prints at least 10 rows, so if you type fewer habits the spare rows print blank.
Does it work for any month?
Yes. Pick the month in the builder and the grid uses that month's number of days and weekdays.
What paper size does it print on?
The sheets are laid out on an 8.5 × 11 inch page, and the habit grid prints in landscape. The paper size itself comes from your print settings, so check the print preview if you use A4.
